Sample Portfolio - Essential Dressmaking Techniques Part 2 - 10th May 2021


The Sample Portfolio workshops allow you to build up a file of techniques to refer to when ever you need them. When you attend the first workshop you will receive a file to start building your porfolio then add to it on each workshop. Workshops In this series include, Zips, Seams and Hems, Pockets, Collars and Cuffs, Dressmaking Techniques, Advanced Dressmaking Techniques, Tailoring Techniques, The Importance of Pressing, Machine Feet.

Improve the look of your garments with these techniques, balanced darts, shaping lapels and pattern matching.

What You Need To Bring : The Sewing Room is fully equipped with Janome Sewing Machines and Overlockers as well as all the tools you need to complete your project.  You are very welcome to bring your own machine and sewing box if you wish.

Overcome your fear of zippers in this practical skills workshop! You will learn to insert a concealed zip (look like a pro when you make dresses or cushion covers!). A fly zip with a placket for jeans & trousers and an exposed teeth zip, the fashionable fastening for dresses and skirts. You will receive lots of tips on choosing the correct zip for your project and take home samples and notes to help with your next project. Don't let zips hold you back!
