Sew-Along - The Full Slip - Starts 5th August 2021
Sew Alongs started during Lockdown and proved to be a great way for us to get together and sew. I have decided to keep them going when the Midhurst Sewing Room re-opens.
On recent Sew Alongs, there has been a lot of discussion about making a slip so I thought we should make one - we started with a classic half slip and now here is the full slip sew-along
This can be made from a cupro lining fabric such as bremsilk or Venezia or silk satin. We will also talk about adding lace.
This sew-along will take place on Zoom, I will send out the link to join the Sew-Along the day before.
Let's have fun and make a full slip :)
Materials Needed: The pattern we will be using is Kwik Sew 2589, available HERE
You will also need 1.3-1.6m of 150cm wide fabric, check your size on the pattern for more exact amounts. The finished length is 34.5", purchase extra fabric if you would like to lengthen your slip. You will also need 25cm of ultra-light interfacing and matching thread. If you would like to add lace to your slip I can show you how to do this too.
If you are working with a silk satin I would suggest having some pattern paper to hand to help with cutting out.
Before the Sew-Along: there are a few things you can prepare before the day of the Sew-Along. Gather your tools together, wind a bobbin and thread your machine. Pre-wash or steam your fabric.
