The Dressmaker's Portfolio Level 3 - Introduction to Pattern Cutting Starts 19th April 2023
The Dressmaker’s Portfolio Level 3 is a two-month introduction to pattern cutting & design where students will learn the skills needed to start to design and create a handmade wardrobe.
Based on the Moulage technique which I learned from Kenneth D King in New York, you will be able to start to design your own clothes or use what you learn to alter commercial patterns, you do not have to complete previous levels to take this course but you will need a good understanding of dressmaking and construction
One project will be set to be completed during the 2 months – either 1 garment designed from scratch or 2 co-ordinating garments created using pattern-cutting skills to alter/add to the design of a commercial pattern. Garments can be started during the course and finished by the exhibition date.
