As cotton has a high heat tolerance it is excellent to protect sensitive fabrics. You can hold the iron on the seam for longer and apply more pressure if you need to. Also good for leather and fabrics with a low melting point, such as nylon, coated fabrics, or synthetics. Do not choose cotton with a twill weave as the grain may mark your fabric.

Cloths are raw edge, you could finish with a narrow hem, zig zag or overlock if you wish.
