We are excited to invite you to this two day class where Hand & Lock’s expert tutors will introduce you to the exquisite techniques of couture embroidery.

Designed for those eager to explore the artistry behind haute couture embellishment, this course offers hands-on experience with specialist materials and time-honoured hand embroidery methods.

Guided by industry professionals, you’ll discover techniques regularly used in London, Paris and New York couture houses, bringing the world of high fashion embroidery to life.

Working with an array of luxurious materials, you’ll learn how to apply them in different ways to create stunning decorative effects. Whether you’re a dressmaker looking to elevate your designs or a beginner drawn to the beauty of couture embroidery, this course will provide a rich foundation in the craft.

Technique Breakdown: With the guidance of Hand & Lock's expert tutors you will be shown how to create a series of beautifully embroidered butterflies using couture materials from our archive collection.

This class combines traditional embellishment and goldwork techniques within a contemporary design piece. The base of this piece is a black Silk Organza leaving you with a beautifully embroidered piece.

Materials & Kit Information: All of the materials you need for this class will be provided for you as part of your course experience. You are more than welcome to bring your own embroidery equipment if you would rather use your own materials but everything will be provided for you.
