Sew-Along - Til The Sun Goes Down Hepburn Shirtwaister 29th April & 6th May 2021
While we are all at home I thought it would be nice to sew along together.
The perfect opportunity to learn a new technique and make a beautiful dress for a Summer party or Vintage event
This is a classic dress with echoes of the late 1940s/ early 1950?s but updated for today. There are 2 collar versions, 1 angular and one curved.
There are 3 sleeve choices? A short capped one, a straight bracelet length or one with a feature cuff. (I made a sleeveless version) Small pleats add fullness to the skirt both front and back. And last but not least there are skirt side pockets.
You will need to purchase your pattern here
This sew-along will take place on Zoom, I will send out the link to join the Sew-Along the day before.
Let's have fun and make a lovely dress :)
Materials Needed: 3.3m of 150cm wide woven fabric (add an extra 25cm for a fabric sash, 9 buttons, 50cm lightweight woven interfacing, matching thread.
Before the Sew-Along: there are a few things you can prepare before the day of the Sew-Along. Gather your tools together, wind a bobbin and thread your machine. You could also thread up your overlocker if you have one. Pre-wash or steam your fabric. Roughly cut out your pattern pieces to separate them.
