Sample Portfolio - Pattern Alteration for Design or Fit - 10th March 2025
The Sample Portfolio workshops allow you to build up a file of techniques to refer to whenever you need them. When you attend the first workshop you will receive a file to start building your portfolio then add to it on each workshop. Workshops In this series include Zips, Seams and Hems, Pockets, Collars and Cuffs, Dressmaking Techniques, Advanced Dressmaking Techniques, Tailoring Techniques, The Importance of Pressing, and Machine Feet.
Learn some of the most common Pattern Alterations to get a perfect fit and some basic design ideas for changing a simple pattern into something different.
Using ½ scale pattern pieces you will practice the techniques and take home lots of samples to help you do the same thing on full-scale patterns.
What You Need To Bring: The Sewing Room is fully equipped with Janome Sewing Machines and Overlockers as well as all the tools you need to complete your project. You are very welcome to bring your own machine and sewing box if you wish.
