Sew-Along - Merchant & Mills Harlene Dungarees - Starts 25th March 2021
While we are all at home I thought it would be nice to sew along together.
This is a time to learn some new techniques and practice some trickier sewing, I thought these classic dungarees could look great in a classic canvas or maybe a heavy silk
You will need to purchase the Harlene pattern here
https://merchantandmills.com/store/patterns/paper/the-harlene-2/
You will also need to purchase fabric and notions before the sew-along.
This sew-along will take place on Zoom, I will send out the link to join the Sew-Along the day before.
The perfect project if you would like to learn to sew with denim and learn some new techniques.
Let's have fun and make some classic dungarees :)
Materials Needed: 2.15m of 150cm wide woven fabric, 50cm of cotton for pocket linings, 2 x topstitch thread, 1 x matching thread, 2 x 40mm dungaree clips, 2 x 40mm sliders, 6 x 15mm buttons.
Dungaree hardware kits are available here
Before the Sew-Along: there are a few things you can prepare before the day of the Sew-Along. Gather your tools together, wind a bobbin and thread your machine, if you are lucky enough to have 2 sewing machines it is nice to thread up one for sewing seams and one for topstitching. You could also thread up your overlocker if you have one. Pre-wash or steam your fabric. Roughly cut out your pattern pieces to separate them.
