Sew-Along - The Maker's Atelier Contemporary Sweatshirt 30th March 2021
While we are all at home I thought it would be nice to sew along together.
The contemporary sweatshirt from The Maker's Atelier has two options of jersey tops based on a classic sweatshirt. Choose from a hooded version with distinctive gathered hem and cuff detailing, or the simpler boxy shape.
This is the perfect pattern to practice working with stretch fabrics.
You will need to purchase the pattern here
You will also need to purchase fabrics and matching thread
This sew-along will take place on Zoom, I will send out the link to join the Sew-Along the day before.
Let's have fun and make a contemporary sweatshirt :)
Materials Needed: 2.5m of 150cm wide stretch fabric and matching thread. For the hooded option, you will also need 3m of 12mm cotton tape. For the gather detail, you will need 2m of 4cm wide elastic. You will also need a stretch needle for your sewing machine.
Before the Sew-Along: there are a few things you can prepare before the day of the Sew-Along. Gather your tools together, wind a bobbin and thread your machine, if you have a walking foot that would be helpful. You could also thread up your overlocker if you have one. Pre-wash or steam your fabric. Roughly cut out your pattern pieces to separate them.
