Sew-Along - The Yanaka Jacket Starts 4th March 2021

While we are all at home I thought it would be nice to sew along together.

This is a time to learn some new techniques and practice some trickier sewing

A cross between a blazer and a cardigan, this chic, the unlined jacket is semifitted, slightly cropped, and includes several unique features: a cutaway silhouette, cut-on sleeves, a sleeve gusset for better movement and fit, and a gentle stand-up collar. With no set-in sleeve and no closures, this style is fun and easy to sew as well as versatile to wear. The cut-out V-notch at the back hem adds a little extra style, and the pattern is great for colour blocking. This style includes cup sizes with added bust darts for C and D cups to help you get a perfect fit.

The Liesel pattern is included in the cost of the Sew Along, to make sure I send you the correct pattern please let me know your bust, waist & hip measurements HERE

This sew-along will take place on Zoom, I will send out the link to join the Sew-Along the day before.

The perfect project if you would like to learn techniques for making the perfect shirt.

Week 1 - Deciding on the size, altering the pattern, cutting out & marking up

   Week 2 - Seams

   Week 3 - Hems & Finishing

Let's have fun and make a fab jacket :)

Materials Needed:  2.1m of 150cm wide medium weight woven fabric, 1m woven fusible interfacing, 14m of 25mm bias binding for seam finishing and matching thread.

Before the Sew-Along: there are a few things you can prepare before the day of the Sew-Along.  Gather your tools together, wind a bobbin and thread your machine.  You could also thread up your overlocker if you have one.  Pre-wash or steam your fabric.  Roughly cut out your pattern pieces to separate them.
