The Classic Denim Skirt or Pinafore Dress 26th & 27th September 2024

On this workshop can choose to make either a classic Denim Skirt or Pinafore using the great patterns from Merchant & Mills

A classic Denim Skirt is a wardrobe essential.  Using the Clementine pattern from Merchant & Mills you can make this classic garment.

Create a perfect fit and learn about construction, inserting a jeans zip and lots of topstitching.

The Clementine pattern is included in the workshop price

The Margo pattern is for a hard working pinafore dress, featuring classic detailing and topstitching. Choose to make it with dungaree clips or sewn in straps.

What You Need To Bring: The Sewing Room is fully equipped with Janome Sewing Machines and Overlockers as well as all the tools you need to complete your project.  You are very welcome to bring your own machine and sewing box if you wish.

Materials Needed: For the Skirt you will need to bring along 1.25m of 150cm wide Denim,  30cm of 150cm wide lining for the pocket, 50cm woven interfacing. 1 x 18cm zip, 1 x 18mm button, matching thread and 2 x top stitching threads

For the Pinafore you will need 2.5m of 150cm wide Denim, Matching thread., Contrasting topstitching thread (optional), 2 x 40MM dungaree clips (option 2 only). 2 x 40MM adjustable sliders (option 2 only).6 x 2CM/3/4" (option 1) or 8 (option 2) x hammer on-buttons or sew on buttons. (hardeware is available to purchase in the sewing room)

0.45M/1/2YD lining for pocket and waist facing.
