The Maker's Atelier Retreat

The Maker's Atelier Sewing Retreat will start with a One-Day Masterclass in different fabric constructions Seasonal trends and which fabrics to choose, covering classic knit and woven constructions as well as leathers and modern technical fabrics.

You will have swatches to work on and will choose a Maker’s Atelier pattern to make, and there will be one-to-one discussions with Frances Tobin and Claire Tyler, sewing expert and teacher, to help you decide on fabric choice.

At the end of the day, there will be a chance to go on a fabric shopping trip, then over the next two days, you will sew your pattern, learning techniques and tricks for working with fabrics to achieve professional finishes.

Our aim is to give you the skills and confidence to make informed fabric choices, enabling you to produce more beautiful garments in your future sewing projects.
