Exciting News From The Midhurst Sewing Room
I hope you are safe and well and starting to venture out as the restrictions we have been under are lifted. It has been a difficult time and still is, but there are exciting times ahead and lots to look forward to.
I haven't done as much sewing as I would have liked but I did finish my Couture Jacket and I am really happy with it - many hours of mindful hand sewing over several weeks but so worth it.
During Lock down we were kept busy filming Online Workshops and building a YouTube Channel.
Every Saturday you could find out what we had been up to on our Facebook Live - for 16 weeks we chatted and laughed, shared news and drank cocktails - it was so lovely to keep up with so many of you. Thank you to everyone who joined us each week.
I demonstrated a sewing technique each week and Amy started doing a weekly Cocktail demonstration - you can catch up with what we got up to on the YouTube Channel - just click on the picture below
As restrictions started to lift I began to make plans to start up workshops again. Earlier this year I had started looking for a new home for The Sewing Room and had just started discussions for a new place when lock down started.
I kept in touch with the Estate Agent and we managed to move things forward and on the 1st July I moved into our new home. We are still in Midhurst, at the top of North Street - we have lots of space, our own kitchen and toilet and we are very excited to welcome you all again. Here you can see a video walk round the space - I hope you like it
After two weeks of decorating, cleaning, planning and organising The Midhurst Sewing Room reopened on Saturday 18th July with our first workshop - a Weekend Sewing School.
Four lovely ladies came along and after running through the Health and Safety the sewing started and we had a fabulous weekend.
On the Saturday lunchtime I was surprised to find 4 of the ladies from this years Dressmakers Portfolio waiting for me with cake and flowers and a lovely present - we hadn't been able to celebrate the end of the course and it was so lovely of them to do this.
So we are up and running again - you can see workshops for the rest of the year and the beginning of next year on the website with lots to choose from - just click HERE to see what you could do - you could even come and make your own Couture Jacket :)
I look forward to seeing you in our new home very soon.
