The Sewing Room is open once again and there has been lots going on...
Dear Friend
The Midhurst Sewing Room is Open Again!
On the 17th of May, we reopened and it has been lovely to see so many of you back in The Sewing Room.
We have had workshops on using Interfacing, Seam & Hem finishes, making a Couture Skirt from Linton and various bags with the lovely Sue Cotten.
Sewalongs have also been continuing - we finished the Miri Jumpsuit and Half Slip and we have just started the fabulous Trina Dress. Our Couture Jackets are coming along with a few more weeks of hand sewing to go.
Below you can find details of what we are planning for June with new Workshops & Sewalongs as well as events.
Happy Sewing

We have decided to keep hosting Sewalongs throughout the year as they have been such fun and we have really enjoyed seeing so many of you each week. Click on the pictures below for more information on our two brand new classes.
We are very happy to welcome Mary Funt who will be giving a presentation on creating custom couture trim via Zoom all the way from USA
Last week saw the end of this year's Dressmaker's Portfolio. The ladies this year faced more of a challenge than usual as they had to work at home on their own during the lockdown and weren't able to attend the usual classes that would have been included. We held weekly tutorials on Zoom to keep everyone motivated and to share ideas and inspiration. They all achieved so much and I couldn't be more proud of them all. Well done to Margaret, Barbara, Jean & Madeleine. Below are just some of their fantastic creations. You can see more by clicking on each of the pictures.

EXHIBITION & OPEN DAY
3rd JULY 2021 - 11am - 5pm
Come along to our Exhibition & Open Day and see our lovely new Sewing Room. Please note the NEW date
We will be showcasing the work of our Dressmaker's Portfolio Students from the past two years. Plus you will be able to see many of the garments that Amy & I made during our lockdown sewalongs.
You will be able to browse our Haberdashery shop, Frances from The Maker's Atelier will be there with her latest patterns and Victoria from Bloomsbury Square Fabrics will be joining us with some of her lovely fabrics.
The first show of the year will be Thread Festival at The Farnham Maltings. We are excited to be having a stand there this year. We will have lots of haberdashery as well information about workshops and future events.
This is a great show with lots of stands selling fabrics, haberdashery and patterns
The Farnham Maltings have worked hard to make this a safe event with timed entry and one way systems so come along and say hello. Book your tickets by clicking here.
What we have made
Both myself and Amy are always sewing so we thought we would show you what we have made (or finished!) this week.
I am wearing the Hepburn Shirtwaister by Now & Then Patterns. I made this in a gorgeous Viscose Lawn from Fabric Godmother.
Amy is wearing her new Cielo Dress by Closet Core Patterns made in a light Chambray Denim from Bloomsbury Square Fabrics.
